Torah Momma Journal 1-2-13

What did I…
Offer thanks for? For some awesome friends who have so lovingly helped my family during this time. For my hubby who has let me sleep-in the past few mornings and placed my Bible beside me so that I could have a quiet time with Elohim when I wake up. For my youngest turning 2! It's amazing how the time flies by, but I'm thankful that I get to be with my children and watch them grow.
Accomplish? Is it terrible that I can't think of anything???
Struggle with? Dishes. This week I have just not felt like doing much of anything. I know it seems like a small thing but for us it's an issue. Thankfully my hubby has stepped up and helped me out.
Teach my children? We're working on phonics/reading, as well as working on character qualities.
Study and learn? I've been working on my Hebrew.
Laugh about? We went to visit my in-loves(laws) and the girls had so much fun with their uncles. We laughed for hours watching them talk about all the important things in life, like ice cream, and ballet lol.
Pray about? I've been trying to be more deliberate in praying for our girls. I've been praying this scripture over them:

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. -1 Timothy 4:12
What is this week’s Torah portion and what did I learn from it?
This weeks portion is Shemot Exodus 1:1-6:1

during my reading the thing that stood out the most to me was verses 5:22-6:1:

And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all. Then the Lord said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

As I read these verses I started thinking about how often times when things don't go how we think they should, we quickly blame Elohim or assume He's not paying attention. But really the truth is that He's looking at the situation thinking "Now shalt thou see what I will do". That amazing truth, was right on time for me.

  2. Would it be possible to have a torah wife or something for older torah women, who may not have youngins... I would love to participate when I can, and I truly love the pic, however my littles are not so little... just a question. I love reading these.

  3. Couldn't remember anything you accomplished? Hee hee hee.. I know what you mean! I think more gets accomplished than we remember, but most of it are seeds sown, to be reaped later. :o) Love you, sweet sister.
